CLI reference

One binary, a handful of subcommands, and a chat surface that covers the rest. Everything here is quoted from main, not from memory.

wombat run is the scriptable path: it exits when the task is done, streams nothing extra with --quiet, and never stops mid-build to ask a question.

/help (or /keys) prints the same list with the key map. The command palette opens on / and filters as you type.

Keys

  • enter / shift+entersend / new line
  • escstop the run, close an overlay
  • /command palette
  • @file picker with tab completion
  • ctrl+oopen the newest preview
  • ctrl+g or ?help and key map
  • ctrl+tcycle themes
  • ctrl+p / ctrl+nprompt history
  • ctrl+rproject references
  • ctrl+ycopy the last reply
  • alt+2/3/4/5sessions, models, usage, doctor
  • pgup / pgdnscroll the transcript

The classic interface has its own map: run /help there. Mouse wheel scrolling replaces text selection while mouse is on; turn it off to select and copy with the terminal instead.

Sessions

A session is a JSONL transcript, scoped to the directory you started in and stored under ~/.wombat/sessions/<project-hash>/. Tool calls, prompts and model usage are recorded alongside the messages, which is what /sources and /cost read.

wombat sessions
wombat resume last
wombat run -c "keep going"
wombat checkpoint list
wombat checkpoint restore <id>

Checkpoints are a private shadow git repository next to the session. They are on by default; wombat config set checkpoints false turns them off. restore takes --yes and --session flags when you are scripting it.

Themes

Fifteen palettes ship in the binary. /theme opens the live picker, ctrl+t cycles, and the choice is saved to the config.

The classic interface still tints the terminal background while Wombat runs and restores it on exit; wombat config set paint_background false disables that.
